ASD20 announced that Douglass Valley Elementary School will be closed Monday, and Air Academy High School students and staff will have a Synchronous eLearning day.
They initially said bussing from USAFA would be cancelled, but they later changed course, saying D20 busses will be allowed to pick up students who live on the U.S. Air Force Academy and need transportation to D20 schools and special education programs happening off-base.
Before and after school care on USAFA will also be cancelled.
In the meantime, USAFA announced additional closures and restrictions.
Officials said on Monday, the base will only be open to DoD ID cardholders, contractors and anyone with previously-scheduled appointments. Otherwise, base operations will continue as scheduled, according to officials.
They said the installation will be closed to the general public and the Visitor Center will be closed.
