All of Maine is once again in the forecast cone of a tropical system. Though Tropical Storm Philippe is still nearly one thousand miles away, it’s forecast cone has it approaching state coastline. As of 5 a.m. on Wednesday, the storm is 150 miles away from St. Thomas and 815 miles away from Bermuda with 45 mile per hour winds. Philippe is moving at a 9 mph.Despite bringing heavy rains to the British and U.S. Virgin Islands, the National Hurricane says Philippe is a disorganized storm. It is expected to pick up speed as it heads north on Thursday and Friday. As Philippe nears Maine, it may interact with a developing rainstorm approaching from the west. Depending on the exact interaction, the may experience enhanced rainfall and gusty winds from the combined storms. The timing of the storms would bring rainfall to the area on Saturday and perhaps into Saturday night.Maine’s Total Weather team of meteorologists will continue to track both Philippe and the rainstorm and detail the forecast and impacts as it gets closer.INTRACTIVE RADAR BELOW: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-
