MAFS’ Harrison lashes out at brides who LAUGHED at him for showing emotion

Harrison Boon has hit back at his MAFS co-stars who laughed at him as he tried to explain why his wife Bronte Schofield couldn’t attend Sunday’s commitment ceremony.

The 33-year-old builder became emotional as he revealed Bronte suffers from endometriosis and was in too much pain to take part in filming that day.

While his emotions were no doubt genuine, he did come off as slightly awkward as he spoke of the women’s health issue that was clearly beyond his personal experience.

The other brides were shown laughing at Harrison as he explained his wife was in ‘a lot of pain’, so he had no choice but to fly solo for the ceremony.

After the episode aired, he called out the women for laughing at him for showing ‘vulnerability’ and ‘compassion’.

‘Hello, everyone, I just want to address tonight’s CC. Bronte was in a lot of pain and crying and I had to go into the high-pressure environment and deliver a commitment ceremony decision on my own and the emotions that you see were very real,’ he began.

‘I have a lot of empathy and a real soft spot for my son and you’ve seen my softer side in flashes during the experiment where I’ve shown a lot of empathy for Jesse and Josh.’

‘I don’t appreciate the women of the group laughing at me showing vulnerability and showing absolutely no care for Bronte’s situation, nor do I think the music was appropriate.’

Harrison continued: ‘What you see tonight is a guy showing nothing but compassion and real genuine care for his wife. Yes I’m this season’s villain but that doesn’t mean I’m made of stone.’

During Sunday night’s commitment ceremony, Harrison explained to the group: ‘Unfortunately Bronte couldn’t be here because she goes through a lot more at that time of the month.’

‘I’m not a voice for endometriosis but she is in a lot of pain and gets very emotional. It’s really hard to see her like that,’ he said as the other brides were shown giggling.

‘We will try to get through this the best we can. I’m a guy so I don’t know what Bronte actually goes through so I’ve just got to be supportive and do whatever I can.’

Married At First Sight expert John Aiken responded: ‘I’m not getting a sense you’re being real with us. So do you want to stay or leave?’

Harrison then revealed he had made the decision to remain in the experiment.
