Cucculelli Shaheen found inspiration in an unexpected place for their spring 24 collection.

Titled “American Venus,” Collection Sixteen is named after the original American Venus who posed for the statue that sits atop the Manhattan Municipal Building, and is influenced by the energy of New York.

Co-creative directors Anthony Cucculelli and Anna Shaheen showcased their latest offerings during New York Fashion Week under the beautiful arch of the iconic building at dusk. They caught up with Daily Mail after the show.

The combination of the romantic beauty of Beaux-Arts architecture is contrasted with the grittiness of downtown New York for an unexpected and gorgeous twist that make up Cucculelli Shaheen spring 2024.

‘This is the first time that we designed the collection knowing where we were going to hold the show,’ said Anthony. ‘That really helped get us inspired.’

Unlike last season’s predominantly black and silver offerings, spring’s palette is soft and pretty. 

‘The inspiration for the color palette comes from a walk that we took over the Manhattan Bridge to Brooklyn at sunset,’ shared Anna.

‘We could see the show venue in the distance, and we loved how the beautiful oranges and reds popped against the golden statue of the building.’

In line with the energy of the season, ‘we wanted to have a really light and airy feeling with this collection,’ said Anna.

The look was accomplished through the use of soft flowing fabrics like tulle and organza in relaxed silhouettes. 

Embellished garments in warm hues glistened as they came down the cobblestone runway, thanks to the label’s brand-new Crystal Grid technique.

The state-of-the-art method gives a ton of sparkle and is incredibly light weight, beautifully capturing the light.

‘As we are always inspired by living and working in New York City, the show allows us to really showcase that kinetic feeling live and in motion with our community,’ said Anthony.
