The W Bellevue and Bellevue Fashion Week have partnered to host What She Said, an event featuring trailblazing women in fashion from 6–9 p.m. on Oct. 13 at W Bellevue.
It will feature a panel discussion led by fashion publicist Sydney Mintle of Gossip & Glamour, a curated shopping marketplace featuring women-owned brands, music by DJ Mixxtress, signature cocktails, and immersive photo opportunities by The Bellevue Collection.
What She Said is a global event series produced by W Hotels. The events shine a light on some of the most creative and outspoken women who are shaping the world today, featuring thought-leaders in industries including fashion, tech, music, and art.
“What She Said is an irreverent play on women speaking up and out for themselves. It is an ironic juxtaposition to a traditionally degrading phrase that allows women to take ownership of their words and what they say,” Cindi Breen, complex director of sales and marketing for W Bellevue, said in a release. “There is no mistake about it, this is ‘what she said’ — not what she agrees with, or what someone else said on her behalf — it’s her thoughts, her opinions, her voice, and her words.”
Panelists at the Bellevue event will include founder of the luxury knitwear brand SSKEIN, Elisa Yip; founder of The Sustainable Fashion forum, Brittany Sierra; founder of Valerie Madison Fine Jewelry, Valerie Madison; and fashion consultant Lauren Pistoia. The four women will share their entrepreneurial journey, lessons learned, and valuable tips for success.
A portion of the ticket proceeds will benefit the Ada Developers Academy, a local nonprofit working to provide no-cost coding classes to women and gender- expansive adults. Event sponsors include The Bellevue Collection, Bellevue Fashion Week, Gossip & Glamour, and Trophy Cupcakes.
