Thunderstorms In Green Country: Storm Damage In Osage County

The first waves of severe weather in Green County moved fast across the state on Monday, with reports of damage in Osage County from a possible tornado.

Other areas saw large hail and strong winds as several tornado warnings were active in the late evening hours.

There are still active watches in most of Green Country for severe thunderstorms and tornadoes. Those last until midnight and 1 a.m.

Watches & Warnings:

  1. A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect for Adair, Cherokee, Delaware, Mayes and Wagoner County until 12 a.m.
  2. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for Adair, Haskell, Latimer, Le Flore, Pushmataha and Sequoyah counties until 1 a.m.
  3. A Tornado Watch is in effect for Cherokee, Craig, Creek, Delaware, Hughes, Lincoln, McIntosh, Mayes, Muskogee, Nowata, Okfuskee, Okmulgee, Osage, Ottawa, Pawnee, Pittsburg, Rogers, Tulsa, Wagoner and Washington counties until midnight.

Tennis Ball-sized hail was reported in the city of Caney, Kansas.

There were also severe thunderstorms across the Tulsa metro around 10 p.m. on Monday before they moved out.

Severe thunderstorms moved into Wagoner, Fort Gibson Lake, Locust Grove and Salina areas around 11:20 p.m.

What are the severe weather threats on Monday, April 1 in Oklahoma?

Storms developed on Monday afternoon between 3 pm and 5 pm to our west and started moving across the metro region between 6 pm and 8 pm. Storms should exit far eastern OK into western Arkansas around 10 pm on Monday night to 1 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

Highs Monday will reach the mid to upper 70s with mostly cloudy conditions and gusty south winds from 15 to 25 mph.

Tues Weather

As the front passes the area late tonight, some cooler weather arrives with Tuesday morning lows dropping into the 40s and afternoon highs reaching only the mid-50s.

Wednesday morning features lows in the upper 30s and lower 40s with afternoon highs in the mid-60s. Thursday morning starts in the mid-30s with highs reaching the upper 60s and lower 70s.
