25-Year-Old Newark Native Shakur Stevenson wowed a hometown crowd in a one-sided and masterful show of skillful boxing at the Prudential Center in Downtown Newark Friday night.

After losing  two titles at the weigh-ins earlier Friday, the mishap most certainly did not affect his performance to dominate Olympic medalist and Brazilian native Robson Conceicao.

Stevenson missed weight by 1.6lbs just before his battle with Conceicao,  vacating his WBO and WBC super featherweight titles.

According to ESPN, Stevenson announced that he has no intention of returning to the weight class.

In Friday’s competition, Stevenson (19-0, 9 KO) dominated the fight after skilled punching left contender Conceicao sought to get through Stevenson’s defensive structure, resulting in critical blows during the offensive domination.

The night ended with official scores of 117-109, 117-109, and 118-108, even after Stevenson was docked a point in the ninth round for a hip toss and could have been harshly penalized later for the same move, but the referee declined.

Attendance at Stevenson’s hometown arena Prudential Center reached a historic high/record for a boxing match, with 10,107 in attendance at the event.
