APD investigating homicide at north Austin business park


AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department said in a Saturday afternoon social media post that a homicide occurred in north Austin.

The agency did not release any further details, but did schedule a press briefing for 4:15 p.m. The briefing will occur in the 7600 block of Guadalupe Street.

APD Sgt. Lee Knouse provided preliminary information at the briefing. According to Knouse, APD received a 2:11 p.m. 911 call reporting a disturbance at a “quite large” business park in the 2800 block of North Lamar Boulevard.

“The disturbance occurred between two individuals and a shooting resulted,” Knouse said. “Life-saving measures were performed on that subject, but unfortunately at 2:34 p.m. the subject was pronounced deceased.”

Knouse said that all parties involved in the shooting were “accounted for” and that the agency believes that there is no remaining threat to the public.

Texas DPS, Austin-Travis County EMS and Austin Fire also responded to the incident.
