BUT FIRST, WE WANT TO GET RIGHT TO BREAKING NEWS THIS MORNING. WE’VE RECEIVED MULTIPLE REPORTS OF A FIRE OFF OF INTERSTATE 385 IN GREENVILLE COUNTY. OUR JAMYA REED JOINS US LIVE NOW FROM SIMPSONVILLE WITH WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR. JAMIA, WHAT CAN YOU TELL US. YEAH, ANNE, WHEN WE FIRST RECEIVED REPORTS AROUND 1230 THIS MORNING. HERE’S A LIVE LOOK FROM SKY FOUR RIGHT NOW. MALDEN POLICE CONFIRMED THE FIRE IS A CONSTRUCTION SITE. THEY ALL SAY THE AVAILABLE RESOURCES, INCLUDING POLICE AND FIRE, ARE RESPONDING IN A, QUOTE, PLAN IS IN ORDER. OFFICIALS HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO CONFIRM THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE OR IF ANYONE WAS INSIDE THE CONSTRUCTION AREA. WE SPOKE WITH ONE PERSON WHO LIVES NEARBY. HE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AND SEEING THIS COMING HOME IS NOT SOMETHING YOU WANT TO SEE, ESPECIALLY, YOU KNOW, WHEN YOU’RE COMING HOME AND YOUR PETS ARE IN YOUR HOUSE. SO HOPEFULLY IT CAN BE CONTROLLED, BUT IT’S NOT LOOKING LIKE IT RIGHT NOW. CREWS ARE STILL MONITORING THE FIRE. A large fire at a Greenville County, South Carolina construction site has been contained. The fire was in the area of Simpsonville and Mauldin off of Interstate 385.Video from Sky 4 below: Reports of the fire were first received just after 12:30 a.m. Friday. Mauldin Police confirmed the fire is at a construction site.They say all available resources, including police and fire, responded.Fire officials did confirm the fire is contained, however the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
