A tragic submarine accident in the Yellow Sea is believed to have claimed the lives of at least fifty-five Chinese sailors. According to a confidential UK report, the crew members died due to a catastrophic failure in the submarine’s oxygen systems, resulting in poisoning. Among the victims were Colonel Xue Yong-Peng, the captain of the submarine ‘093-417,’ and 21 other officers. The incident occurred when the submarine struck a chain and anchor obstacle, causing system failures. China has denied these claims, and the incident remains unconfirmed, with the UK report based on defense intelligence and classified at a high level of secrecy.
