Tractor-trailer hits motorcycle in deadly Upstate crash that killed 2, troopers say


A tractor-trailer hit a motorcycle in a crash over the weekend that left two people dead, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.The crash happened Sunday at 10:45 a.m. on I-385 north about 16 MM, which is 2 miles west of Gray Court, in Laurens County, troopers saidTroopers said a 2023 Kenworth tractor-trailer and a 1998 Suzuki motorcycle were both heading north when the tractor-trailer hit the motorcycle in the rear.The driver of the motorcycle and the passenger were killed, officials said.On Monday, the Laurens County Coroner’s Office identified the victims as Lindsey Diane Billings, 38, of Laurens County and James Scott Lewis, 55, of Greenville.The tractor trailer driver was injured and taken by ambulance to the hospital, troopers said.There was no word on a condition of the driver.No other information was released.
