Man injured in Sacramento County shooting, officials say; 2nd shooting in the area

A man was injured Monday evening, officials said, making it the second shooting where someone was hurt in the Arden-Arcade area of Sacramento County. The shooting was reported around 8:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of Church Avenue near Edison Avenue, but the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said the shooting actually happened at Bohemian Park.Amar Gandhi, a spokesperson for the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, said multiple people assaulted a man, leading up to a shooting. It is not known why the group assaulted him.The man was transported by a private vehicle to a hospital before deputies arrived, the sheriff’s office said. The man is expected to survive his injuries. The first shooting happened around 2:20 p.m. along Edison Avenue near Watt Avenue, roughly two miles away from where the second shooting happened. A 63-year-old man was shot three times after a disagreement with another man.Gandhi said the two shootings are not related.This is a developing story.
