The New York-headquartered global firm has hired two Allen & Overy partners to establish a new Brussels-based EU antitrust practice.
Davis Polk & Wardwell announced last week (17 January) the establishment of a new European Union antitrust practice. It will be based in Brussels, where the firm will open an office later this year. Allen & Overy partners Jürgen Schindler and Frances Dethmers will move to Davis Polk to become the founding lawyers of the practice.
Currently co-head of Allen & Overy’s global competition and antitrust group, Schindler will join New York-headquartered Davis Polk as a partner. He has acted on multi-faceted cross-border matters such as EU and German merger inquiries, abuse of dominance and cartel matters, involving the energy, finance, technology, transport, life sciences and manufacturing industries.
